Village Bretagne, 75003
Posté le 25 January 2017 by Bruno

The village Bretagne offers a unique historical charm while still keeping the bold Parisian style visitors have come to love. Along the lively boulevards of the neighborhood, Rue de Bretagne may be the most prominent. It features an eclectic mix of markets and restaurants, highlighted by the Marche des Enfants Rouges, the oldest covered market in Paris. Marked by a green gate with the name in crimson writing, inside is a group of small markets, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, and a couple of restaurants as well that serve ready-to-eat meals. Across the street from this highly practical and intriguing market, there is a charming café known as Café Charlot that provides an authentic Parisian bistro with a traditional atmosphere that suits the village well. In addition, there is a park close by that adds to the overall compelling atmosphere of the neighborhood. It is known as the Square du Temple, and it is another historical gem, as it used to be the medieval base of the Knights Templar in the 13th century. Now, it has emerged into a beautiful garden, featuring a waterfall, vibrant flowers and exotic trees, as well as a playground where children can play. This oasis is close to the Carreau du Temple, which used to be a market but has been transformed into a multipurpose cultural center, and it features the tastefully unique architecture that Paris is known for. In the night, the neighborhood is also known for its active bar scene. You will find that the neighborhood carries a calm atmosphere but has many interesting locations so it will always feel like an adventure.
