Village Place des Vosges – 75004
Posté le 25 January 2017 by Bruno

The Place des Vosges village is a spectacular neighborhood nestled in the 4th arrondissement, supported by its breathtaking namesake park. This park has a rich history, as it was first built under the reign of Henri IV from 1605 to 1612, and as the first residential square in Paris, it reflected one of the first efforts of the crown to transform Paris into the culturally, architecturally astounding cities that it is today. The Place des Vosges’ beauty, with its emerald forest of trees in the middle and the iconic four peaceful fountains, is magnetic to residents of the area looking to relax and passerby who are drawn in by the openness of the park, encouraging people to stop and smell the roses (or enjoy a unique piece of Paris). What is truly remarkable is the way that the park’s atmosphere is echoed around the village. Chic boutiques and quaint cafes and restaurants line the streets surrounding the popular plaza and beyond. In fact, all of the diverse aspects of modern Paris can be found in the neighborhood. There is historical intrigue and modern appeal, practical shops and Parisian luxury. Uncommonly, this neighborhood retains a sense of seclusion as well as a strong connection to the rest of Paris. Thus, if you are an extroverted city dweller, and enjoy the glitz and glamour that Paris is sometimes known for, or if you are an introverted city dweller, and you like the more understated charms of the city, there will be something for you in this lively, interesting village.
